"The previous Congress-NCP government did not give importance to urban areas and allotted less budget for the cities. But my government has raised budget for the cities," the Chief Minister said here after laying foundation stone of Rs 128-crore internal water distribution system project for Jalna.
He also said pollution in cities is a major problem.
"90 percent pollution is generated from the urban areas and only 10 percent pollution is caused due to industrialisation," Fadnavis said.
Meanwhile, an activist of the Maratha Mahasangh raised slogans demanding reservation for the Maratha community when the Chief Minister was speaking, following which police took him into custody.
