Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took a swipe at the Congress today over disruption of Parliament and other "negative" issues and said the party had taken up the role of Mogambo', a villainous character from iconic Hindi film Mr India'.

The Minority Affairs Minister's attack on the Congress comes a day after its chief Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of fielding the entire gang of Gabbar Singh in Karnataka assembly election after the BJP gave tickets to controversial mining barons Reddy brothers.

Grand Old Party's Brand New Role- Mogambo'. Parliament session washout- Mogambo Khush Hua', Attack on Constitutional bodies- Mogambo Khush Hua', Insult to Vandematram'- Mogambo Khush Hua', questioning surgical strike on Pakistan terrorists- Mogambo Khush Hua, Naqvi said on Twitter, without mentioning Gandhi or the Congress.

"The Congress feels happy when something negative of these sort happens," Naqvi said, when asked.

Mogambo' was a character played by late Amrish Puri in the popular 1987 flick Mr India'. Mogambo khush hua (Mogambo is feeling happy) was one of the famous one-liners Puri's character delivered in the film.

Gabbar Singh was the name of the main villain from another popular Hindi film, 'Sholay' (released in 1975).

Gandhi had yesterday attacked the prime minister and the BJP at a poll rally in poll-bound Karnataka over the BJP giving tickets to the controversial mining barons.

"In film Sholay, there was Gabbar Singh. You brought Gabbar Singh Tax (an allusion to GST) but this time you have gone even further. You have fielded the entire gang of Gabbar Singh.

"There is Gabbar, Sambha, Kalia, and all of them....the Reddy brothers gang, which was in jail...You are trying to get them inducted into Assembly, and you tell the country that you are fighting against corruption," the Congress chief had said.
