Congress fast seeking flood relief measures

Congress today staged a day long fast here to urge the government to expedite flood relief works.
Leader of the opposition V.Vaithilingam led the fast.
He criticised the "failure" of the government to assess the damage to houses in the recent torrential rains.
He said steps should be taken to see that there would be no more flooding of housing colonies as was seen during the recent rains.
President of the PCC A.Namassivayam MLA and other leaders took part in the protest.
