Press Trust of India Hyderabad With the Telangana Bill having been passed in Parliament, Congress leaders from the region vowed to develop the new state as a model in the country here today.
A number of Congress leaders from the newly formed Telangana state, who arrived in Hyderabad today after camping in the national capital for the passage of the Telangana bill, held a meeting to thank Congress president Sonia Gandhi and celebrate the occasion.
"We must provide good governance in Telangana. We must ensure development, welfare programme and social justice in Telangana," K Jana Reddy, Panchayat Raj Minister in the outgoing N Kiran Kumar Reddy government, said.
He stressed that the Congress should put up a stellar performance in the coming elections. Other ministers J Geeta Reddy, D K Aruna, several party MPs and other leaders took part in the event.
