Congress seeks CBI/CID probe into ex-BJP Corporator's death

City Congress today demanded a probe by either CBI or Gujarat CID into the "mysterious" death of former BJP Corporator Praful Goswami here last week.
The wife of Goswami has claimed her husband, a two- time BJP Corporator, died under "mysterious" circumstances at their residence here on December 23.
Ami Rawat, President of the city Congress, said to find out the real cause of his death, either CBI or Gujarat CID should probe the matter.
Rawat, a sitting Corporator, and her husband Narendra Rawat, General Secretary of Gujarat Congress, supported the demand of Neha, the wife of Goswami, that CID or CBI should look into the case. Neha has claimed her husband was murdered and it was not a case of natural death as claimed by police.

Talking to newspersons here yesterday, Neha referred to what she said several anomalies in investigations and claimed police were trying to cover up the case.
She asked Chief Minister Anandiben Patel to intervene to ensure a fair probe.
Police have said Goswami died due to excessive consumption of liquor, an assertion contested by Neha.
