"The government never takes any action against anti-national elements. Whether it is the leader of the AIUDF, whether it is Azfal Guru or Ajmal Kasab all three belong to the same category," BJYM national president Anurag Thakur told reporters here.
Accusing the Congress of playing vote-bank politics, Thakur said there is suspicion of Congress and AIUDF joining hands and added that such an arrangement would be detrimental for the nation.
"The Congress does not act against them. In fact it leave no stones unturned to shake hands with them," he said.
Thakur, also a Lok Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh, said the Congress party in Assam has "sacrificed" the interests of indigenous people of the state for the sake of securing votes from Bangladeshi immigrants.
Recalling the 1985 Assam Accord signed by Rajiv Gandhi, he said, "It is 27 years since the Accord was signed but no action being taken on it. Is the Congress lacking will power to act".
The BJYM leader refuted allegations that Hindutva outfits are trying to communalise the Assam conflict.
"When we raise the issue of Bangladeshi infiltration it is a very important issue which is not only related to Assam but to the security of the whole country," Thakur said.
