Cop booked, suspended for misbehaving with woman judge

A police constable, suspected to be drunk on duty, was booked and later suspended for allegedly misbehaving with a woman judge of a city court in southeast Delhi's Kalindi Kunj area, police said today.
The incident occurred on Sunday when the Metropolitan Magistrate with her family had gone to a ghat in Kalindi Kunj in her car to perform some ritual. When she was about to return, she saw the constable taking pictures of her car.
In her complaint, the magistrate told police that the constable was in an inebriated state and verbally abused her when she asked him why he was clicking pictures.

She called up the police and waited for them to arrive locking herself and her family inside the car. The constable identified as Ravinder Kumar, posted at Jaitpur police station, allegedly kept abusing her.
He allegedly made baseless accusations on seeing an official sticker on the car's windshield and also threatened to frame her in a case of assaulting a policeman.
After a police team reached the spot, the magistrate stepped out of her vehicle and the constable became more violent but stopped after apparently suffering abdominal cramps.
"An FIR has been registered in connection with the matter and the constable has been put under suspension," a senior police official said.

The case was registered on the basis of the complaint of the metropolitan magistrate under section 354A (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, the official added.
