Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices declined by 0.20 per cent to Rs 423.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators offloaded positions.
Besides, subdued demand from consuming industries further fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Copper for delivery in November moved down by 85 paise, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 423.60 per kg in business turnover of 115 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in Copper futures to weak global trend and low demand at domestic spot markets.
Globally, Copper for delivery in three months retreated 0.2 per cent to USD 6,858 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange, while in Shanghai the metal for November was also little changed at 48,880 yuan (USD 7,972) per tonne.
