Justice G P Mittal rejected the appeals filed by Head Constable Dalip Singh, ASI Umedh Singh and Constables Rajinder Singh, Sajjan and Vijender and vacated the earlier order staying the inquiry on January 20, 2012.
The court rejected their argument that the trial court order should be set aside as the high court had earlier quashed the inquiry against their colleague S B Yadav, who was in-charge of Jahangirpuri police station, on the ground that he was not in the patrolling party.
The court also ordered the release of the compensation amount to the victims.
The policemen were directed by the trial court to pay Rs 50,000 each as compensation to the victims.
According to the prosecution, on January 9, 2010 four boys Dilip, Deepak, Ravinder and Vikas were arrested near Mangal Bazar chowk by the Jahangirpuri police on the charge of robbery and also an attempt by them to cause grievous hurt or death to the complainant.
