Cos raise Rs 59,277 crore from primary markets in 2015

India Inc raised Rs 59,277 crore through public and rights issues in 2015, Sebi data showed.
According to markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India, there were 96 public and rights issues during the year.
Meanwhile in 2014, companies raised Rs 39,850 crore through 101 public and rights issues.
Out of the total funds in 2015, Rs 13,878 crore was raised through initial public offers (IPOs).
Among the companies that raised money from the primary capital market were Indigo parent InterGlobe Aviation, Coffee Day Enterprises, which runs the Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) chain, and Alkem Laboratories.
While InterGlobe Aviation raised Rs 3,008.5 crore, Coffee Day mobilised Rs 1,150 crore from its public issue.
Alkem Laboratories, on the other side, mopped up Rs 1,350 crore from the market.
