An FIR was registered after Satish Kumara, resident of Uchha Thara colony here, filed a complaint against Deepak Sharma and Jyoti Kumari who had agreed to sell their house for Rs 35 lakh.
The victim had paid Rs 15 lakh as earnest money on May 8 this year to the accused who had agreed to execute the sale deed in the month of August, police said, adding that the possession of the house was delivered to Kumara thereafter.
On the day of the execution of the sale deed, the accused did not turn up and on August 8 the duo attempted to take back the possession of house and forcibly steal the documents, police said.
A case has been registered under various sections of IPC, they said.
The accused are absconding and a team has been dispatched to arrest them, police added.
