Couple tries to kill self

A couple has
allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming pesticides today, police said.
Prima facie, the couple - Radharapu Arjun (34) and his wife Swaroopa (30) of Cheelapur village in Bejjenki mandal , tried to kill self after the tahsildar denied to mutate their name in the revenue records, Bejjenki Sub Inspector B.Koteshwar said.
They had purchased some land in the village and they have filed an application before the tahsildar concerned for transfer the land on their name, the officer said.
They were shifted by their kin to the Karimnagar district headquarters hospital, he said, adding investigations are underway.
