Court acquits Jharkhand minister in model code violation case

A local court today acquitted Jharkhand Urban Development Minister C P Singh in a case of model code of conduct violation slapped against him during the bypoll to Hatia assembly seat about three years ago.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Diwakar Pandey acquitted the minister.
A local Congress leader had on May 20, 2012 lodged the complaint against Singh, accusing him of inaugurating a civic amenity in the run up to the poll.
Singh was the Speaker of Jharkhand assembly then.
