A local court today acquitted a relative of Union minister Sanjeev Baliyan citing lack of evidence in a case of culpable homicide.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Jitender Kumar acquitted Rahul Kutbi, a cousin of Baliyan, after all the witnesses in the case turned hostile, prosecution lawyer Firoz Ali said.
Vedpal, a college student, was allegedly thrashed and injured in Shahpur area of the district on August 21, 2010. His father had filed a complaint against Rahul.
Later, police filed a charge sheet in the court. However, all the witnesses turned hostile in the court.
