The court gave the order after the Delhi police said its Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had referred the complaint to the CBI in December last year.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi asked EOW's Deputy Commissioner of Police K K Vyas to coordinate with the CBI on the status of the complaint filed by RTI activist Vivek Garg against Dikshit, PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan and former CWG OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi.

Vyas and Additional DCP (EoW) had appeared today before the court in pursuance of its August 31 order with "proper reports" as sought by the court.

The court had also sought query-wise reply on whether the complaint disclosed any cognisable offence and what action has been taken on it. The court had also asked if the complainant had been informed about the opinion for not taking any action on the complaint.

"The complaint moved by the complainant had not been inquired into by EoW and all complaints had been transferred to the CBI at the initial stage itself as allegations related to Commonwealth Games were being looked into / investigated by the CBI.

"It was thought proper to transfer these complaints to the CBI for further necessary action to avoid investigation by various agencies over the same issue," the DCP said in his reply filed before the court today. (More)
