Court rejects closure report in case involving ex-DSSSB chief

A Delhi court has for the second time rejected the closure report of Anti-Corruption Bureau in a 12-year-old case involving former Delhi Subordinate Service Selection Board (DSSSB) chairman Ramesh Chandra and directed it to probe the "matter afresh with absolute promptness."
"I am not at all satisfied with the manner in which three of the complainants are reported to be not available. Complete details and addresses of the complainants, can be collected from records of DSSSB.
"I, therefore, find that matter has not been diligently investigated. Closure report is rejected. Let the matter be investigated afresh with diligence and with absolute promptness," Special Judge Narottam Kaushal said.

An FIR was registered in the case in 2001 against ex-DSSSB chairman after prima facie evidence was found on the complaints of irregularities by seven candidates for Junior Engineer (civil) examination.
During investigation, statements of two of the complainants were recorded and finding insufficient evidence, FIR was sought to be closed.
The court, however, on July 27, 2012 rejected the first closure report directing further investigation, specifically with regard to five other persons whose statements were not recorded during investigation.
ACB again filed the closure report after having recorded the statements of two of the remaining five complainants as directed by the court.

In its fresh closure report, the ACB stated that the other three persons were not available for investigation as their addresses were not traceable.
