Court sentences man to seven years imprisonment for rape

A local court today sentenced a man to seven years rigorous imprisonment for raping a young girl in Sahibganj in February this year.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (II) Chandra Bhushan Singh found 26-year-old Manoj Kumar Pandey guilty under section 376 IPC (rape) and sentenced him to seven years rigorous imprisonment.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Pandey and ordered that if he failed to pay the fine he would have to undergo one month's imprisonment.
