The CPI(M) today slammed the Madhya Pradesh BJP government for denying permission to its leader Sitaram Yechury to hold a public meeting at Mhow on April 14, the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, on "flimsy grounds".
Mhow is the birth place the of the architect of Indian Constitution.
"The Indore district administration has refused to give permission for our general secretary Yechury's public meeting on April 14 on flimsy grounds of traffic problem among other reasons, state Communist Party of India (Marxist) secretary Badal Saroj said in a press statement.
"On the directive of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan the Indore district administration, by denying us permission, has indulged in an undemocratic and deplorable act," Saroj said.
"We have not been given permission to hold rally as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Mhow on April 14 for which the state machinery is being misused to gather crowd for his rally," the leader alleged in the release.
