The officials collected details about the scan centres which were conducting ultrasound scanning, x-ray and other tests in gross violation of established rules and medical ethics.
Joint director of Public health Kathiresan said there were series of complaints about sex determination tests being carried about the scan centres in the district.
A team of offcials acted after receiving complaints found that four centres were willing to reveal the sex of the baby for a fee.
