'Footloose' director Craig Brewer will direct 'Gangster Princess of Beverly Hills'.
The 41-year-old filmmaker will also write the film based on the true story of Lisette Lee, reported Deadline.
The former drug smuggler famously faked her way into the Hollywood spotlight by pretending to be an actress, model and heiress.
The film is based on Sabrina Rubin Erdely's 2012 Rolling Stone article.
Brewer has previously directed 'Hustle & Flow', 'Black Snake Moan' and the 2011 'Footloose' remake.
He is also writing the script of David Yates upcoming Tarzan movie.
