The employees, who went on strike last week, also demanding that the CSD canteens, having consolidated turnover of Rs 10,000 crore per year should be recognised as the retail outlets integral to CSD, according to a statement by All-India Defence Civilian Canteen Employees Union.
They are demanding that the CAG should be allowed to audit turnover and profit utilisation of all the 4,500 CSD canteens (retail) for the past 10 years in order to ascertain the utilisation of thousands of crores of profit generated from the CSD canteen retail operators, the release added.
The demands also include that CSD canteens should be brought under the Parliamentary Accountability Regime that is applicable to all operations funded by the Consolidated Fund of India.
