Curfew relaxed in slain gangster Anandpal's village
Press Trust of India Jaipur The curfew at Nagaur district's Sanvrad village was relaxed for over five hours today after the situation improved since Wednesday when a mob clashed with police after a condolence meet for slain gangster Anandpal Singh.
The situation remained peaceful and under control in the village. The curfew was relaxed from 10.30 am to 2 pm and 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, ADM (Didwana) Chhagan Lal Goyal said.
The family members of Anandpal also conducted a condolence meeting, the officer said.
The curfew was imposed after a man died and 32 people, mostly policemen, were injured in the clash.
Violence broke out after a condolence meeting at the village which was attended by a large number of Rajput community people.
Anandpal Singh was killed in an encounter by police on June 24 at a village in Churu district.
