CWG scam: CBI to give report on CVO probe on Dikshit, others

A city court has asked CBI to file a report on the status of proceedings before Chief Vigilance Officer of CPWD and PWD on a plea against former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and others for alleged corruption during 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sudhanshu Kaushik said a report be summoned from the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) about the status of inquiry being conducted by it and the action taken against the erring officials.
"It has been mentioned (by CBI in its report) that the matter has already been reported to the Chief Vigilance Officer of CPWD and PWD, Nirman Bhawan, which is looking into the matter.

"CBI is directed to furnish report about the present status of proceedings before CVO. Report be also summoned from CVO about the status of inquiry and the action taken against the erring officials. Put up on October 9," the court said.
The court passed the directions on a complaint filed by RTI activist Vivek Garg seeking registration of FIR against Dikshit, then PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan and former CWG OC Chairman Suresh Kalmadi for alleged corruption in CWG-related projects. The complaint was earlier transferred to CBI by Delhi Police.
In his complaint, Garg had claimed that "Dikshit, Chauhan, Kalmadi and other top politicians, (then) officials of the Delhi government and the Centre and their nexus of corrupt businessmen connived with each other to cause wrongful loss to the public exchequer and wrongful gain to themselves or persons whom they were interested in."

The court, in its order said that status reports were called from the CBI as well as Economic Offence Wing repeatedly.
"In the last report submitted on April 7, it has been mentioned that in respect of one of the stadiums, inadmissible payment of Rs 3.03 crores and Rs 3.51 crores was found to be made against purchases," the court noted.
