No favouritism, jobs only on merit in Haryana, says CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today told the State Assembly here that present BJP Government in the State was keen to bring fairness and transparency in recruitment system in order to check nepotism.
"Unlike earlier, when favouritism ruled roost, we are committed to bring fairness and transparency in the recruitment system. Jobs will be given only on merit," Khattar asserted while replying to a question raised by state BJP president and party MLA Subhash Barala during Question Hour.
Barala had sought to know from the Chief Minister "whether there is any proposal under consideration of the Government to provide jobs on merit to check nepotism in the recruitment.."

Khattar said the state government has decided to make recruitment on the basis of written examination followed by the interview where the marks of the interview shall be 12 per cent of the total marks for the posts to be advertised and recommended by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission in case of all Group-C posts.
He also said that the process to recruit lecturers was on while out of 761 vacancies of doctors, 389 were set to join the service soon after being recruited through a transparent process.
When former Speaker and sitting Congress MLA Kuldeep Sharma sought to know from the Chief Minister how many employees in various departments had been retrenched and how many jobs had been given during the past ten-months of the BJP rule in the State, Khattar informed the House that "we have not shunted out anyone from the job. But (in case of the Guest teachers) we have only acted as per the court orders..".

In written reply to the question raised by Barala, the House was informed that in case of recruitment of teachers for Group B and C posts, written test will carry 80 per cent marks, 8 per cent will count for experience--one per cent for each completed year of service in the respective categories subject to maximum of 8 per cent--and 12 per cent will be reserved for interview.

For police recruitments, all candidates shall be put to a physical screening test carrying maximum of 15 marks to judge their physical fitness and endurance.
Meanwhile to a question raised by Congress MLA Karan Singh Dalal who had sought to know where there is any scheme under Government's consideration to give Rs 5000 per month as the pension to farmers after age of 60 years in the State, the House was informed that there is no such scheme.

To yet another question of BJP legislator Prem Lata Singh, the House was informed that isolated cases of bonded labour have been detected in the operation of brick kilns in Haryana.
