Day-long programmes organised for the citizens at R K beach in Visakhapatnam include marathon, cyclothon, sapling plantation, yoga performance, sand art, crafts mela, art camp, traditional ramp walk and musical performances, including one by well-known singer Baba Sehgal.
Noting that the cyclone had left a trail of destruction in Visakhapatnam and parts of AP's north coastal districts, Special Chief Secretary (Tourism) Chandana Khan said the process of re-building the port city is on a fast pace.
"The event is to create positive approach towards recovery, motivation and reassuring the population at large as well as keeping the spirit of every citizen of Visakhapatnam high and assuring them of a safe and bright future...," she said.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would actively participate in the event where a 'Rejuvenation Vizag' flame would be lit, Chandana said.
