The duo - Mahammad Mehbub alias Sikdar and his brotehr Mahammad Baju - were also involved in various criminal activities in West Bengal, said Additional Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Deo.
After the arrest of the two dacoits yesterday, police is now in search of gang leader Babu Khan, suspected to be a Bangladeshi national staying in a rented accommodation here for the past over eight months, he said.
Khan is the mastermind of the gang whose members impersonated as hawkers during day time, and commited crime at night after having surveyed the areas, police said.
