Bangladeshi national Mohammed Jiah Sheikh and woman band organiser Moonmoon Majumdar were among the four arrested from Tiljala in the eastern part of the city on Friday in connection with the recent dacoities in the city, Kolkata Police Joint CP (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh said last evening.
Acting on a tip off, police arrested the four and seized a car and some looted items, Ghosh said.
"It is an eight member gang of dacoits. The mastermind and three others including a Bangladeshi man are yet to be arrested," he said.
Moonmoon, who was a band organiser attached with different bars on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, was living with another alleged dacoit Aslam Sheikh at a Tiljala flat, from where they were arrested, Ghosh said.
Moonmoon's four-wheeler was used in the crimes, he said.
