The decrease in prices of BharatBenz range of commercial vehicles is between 0.4 and 2.5 per cent, depending on state and model, the company said in a statement.
"With GST in place, we expect additional momentum at BharatBenz, which we intend to bolster as we reduce prices to pass on GST benefits to our customers," said Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Managing Director and CEO Erich Nesselhauf.
Borderless pan Indian transportation is expected to improve the overall efficiency of logistic companies in line with introduction of more modern and fuel efficient trucks, he added.
Almost all automobile companies - passenger vehicle and two-wheeler makers - have cut prices of vehicles to pass on GST benefits to buyers.
