Radical Sikh organisation Dal Khalsa today took a swipe at Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's 'Panthic (Sikh) credentials' over his opposition to the formation of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Managemet Committee (HSGMC).
Dal Khalsa chief H S Dhami, in a statement, asked Badal to prove his Panthic credentials by taking action against State Director General of Police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini for his alleged involvement in fake encounters during militancy period.
He said, "as a first step, Badal should remove DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, who is the symbol of repression and tyranny against the Sikh youths."
"Badal should constitute Special Investigation Team to probe fake encounters and human rights violations," he said.
He added that the chief minister must fulfil his party promise to set up a Judicial Commission to dig out the truth what exactly happened during the militancy period and which forces were responsible for it.
