At least 12 Dalits of a marriage party were attacked by a mob when the party started playing music in their bus when they reached Sonta village under Mansoorpur police station area yesterday, they said.
As per the complaint lodged by the bus driver, the incident occurred when the marriage party of Servender coming from Firozpur reached Sonta and continued playing music in the vehicle which was objected by the villagers, police said.
When the bus was about to leave the village for Firozpur, a mob comprising of about 25 villagers attacked the members with stones, they said.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital, they added.
