Dalit woman labourer raped, murdered in paper mill

A 38-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped and murdered at a paper mill here owned by a BSP MLA, police said today.
Police suspected that she had been raped before being strangulated to death yesterday in the mill at Jansath road, where she worked as a labourer.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said, adding that investigation is underway.
Police said they were searching for a labour contractor, Khurshid, who has been absconding since the incident.
The mill is owned by a BSP MLA, they said.
