The Additional Director General of Police (Crime), and the Mansa Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) have been directed by the commission to submit overall report regarding the matter to it on October 19, Commission Chairman Rajesh Bagha said.
IGP Crime Varinder Kumar and Joint Director Welfare Department, Anjana Sandhu, appeared before the commission and shared the latest details of Mansa murder case, he said.
As per the information of Kumar, four accused have been arrested in this case, Bagha said.
Sandhu has sent a cheque of Rs 5.62 lakh as financial help of the family of deceased, Sukhchain Singh, to the district administration.
Bagha said the Police Department has been asked to form special teams for controlling the liquor mafia.
He also stressed that the Mansa district administration should ensure that the entire financial help reaches the bereaved family at the earliest and also consider increasing the aid.
The Mansa murder case must be taken to its logical conclusion as soon as possible so as to ensure exemplary punishment to the accused and prevention of such incidents in the future, the Chairman said.
A case of murder was registered against six persons and one of the accused is also a Dalit.
Police said both the groups were allegedly involved in illegal liquor trade and were involved in clashes in the past too.
Sukhchain Singh, and his friends were called by the other group on the pretext of settling an issue on October 11.
Then they attacked Sukhchain and his friends with sharp edged weapons on Monday night. Though Sukhchain's friends managed to flee, the other group brutally killed Sukhchain, Mansa SSP Mukhwinder Singh had said.
