Data bank of migrant families to be prepared
Press Trust of India Thiruvananthapuram With increase in the number of migrant workers in the recent days in Kerala, the state government has decided to prepare a data bank of migrant families, Minister for Social Welfare, M K Muneer said here today.
It was estimated that there were about 30 lakh migrant labourers across the state and government would come out with a comprehensive policy for the welfare of migrant families, Muneer said while attending a meeting, called to discuss the issues related to children of migrant families.
A policy would be formulated after consulting with different departments, he said, adding, it would be implemented through various agencies.
Efforts would be made to make the state a children friendly one, he said.
