While the state government is silent over the issue so far, tension between the parents and school management is taking an ugly shape thereby severely affecting academic ambiance in these schools.

The stir also hit class 12th pre-board examinations as many students were unable to write the test properly due to chaos, sources said. Parents blamed the school management for their inability to handle the situation.

Similarly, confusion over the exact interpretation of a Supreme Court direction to an interim committee of the state government regarding tuition fee hike in DAV public schools is still continuing, while the aggrieved parents have upped their ante by staging protest meetings in front of all the eight such schools of the twin cities.

While academic activities in all DAV schools located in these two cities hampered for the third consecutive day today, reports of vandalism and subsequent police complaints came from two schools in Cuttack city.

More shockingly, the state government is maintaining a sordid silence on the issue while anathema between parents and school management is taking its turn for the worst.

According to police, the Principal of Markat Nagar DAV School in Cuttack has filed a written complaint before the local police station alleging that some agitated parents resorted to vandalism during the protest dharna and damaged some school properties ransacking it.

Similarly, another report said some agitated parents assaulted a teacher of local Lajpat Ray DAV School in Gandarpur in the Millennium city.
