"John Wick" director David Leitch is one of the top contenders to helm "Deadpool 2".
Recently Tim Miller, who directed the first part, dropped out due to creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds, reported Variety.
Miller had not formally signed on to direct "Deadpool 2," but was in the process of developing the script and was widely expected to return.
Most of the creative team had been set to return for "Deadpool 2". Fox Film chief Stacey Snider confirmed that screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick would be back to handle script.
The Studio has not set a release date for the film yet.
