After deliberating on the interest proposals expressed by various agencies/NGOs, the DDA has shortlisted four agencies including the heritage preservation body Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), the DDA said in a statement.
The other three agencies are -- Braj Foundation which has done work in this field in Mathura and Vrindavan; Samarthya which is known for cleaning of lakes and maintenance in Kerala; and Forum for Organised Resources Conservation and Enhancement (FORCE) which has already worked in Delhi and has also worked for revival of Hauz Khas lake here, it said.
For each of the water body, memorandum of association (MoA) would be signed. It is envisaged that these agencies will maintain the water bodies and generate funds from corporate houses and international agencies for revival, conservation and maintenance, among others, the DDA added.
The DDA will be a partner in this project.
The work will be allocated to the agencies based on their interest, expertise and convenience and in case many agencies show interest for the same location some other acceptable method of allocation will be worked out. As soon as the NGO gives their preferences the water bodies will be allocated.
