The decision will be taken in consultation with our legal team headed by Nariman and Shyam Diwan," he told reporters after an all-party meeting here.
BJP and JDS leaders also attended the meeting which was convened to discuss the government's next course of action in the wake of the apex court judgment on the Cauvery issue.
In its judgment in February, the apex court had raised the 270 tmcft share of Cauvery water for Karnataka by 14.75 tmcft and reduced Tamil Nadu's share, while compensating it by allowing extraction of 10 tmcft groundwater from the river basin.
"We are expecting the inputs from central government on the formation of dispute redressal forum, and based on that we will give our opinion in consultation with our legal team," he said.
Though the apex court has directed to form one such forum, it need not be Cauvery water management board alone, but may be any sort of a committee, temporary and permanent, Siddaramaiah said.
He also said Karnataka's appeal had been partly allowed by the Supreme Court which has allotted 14.75 TMC ft more to the state while Tamil Nadu was allowed to extract 10 tmcft, out of 20 tmcft groundwater.
