The proposed facility would come up at an investment of USD 20 million and is expected to be up and will be functional in the next three years, sources close to development said.
The proposed terminal is part of the Zurich-headquartered global general aviation leader ExecuJet Aviation's plans to establish maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility and providing Fixed-Based Operation (FBO) services at Delhi airport along with its Indian partner Bird Group.
Sources said that as much as 3.30 acres of land has been acquired at the Delhi airport for the entire project including construction of the dedicated terminal.
"All major airports across the globe have dedicated terminals for landing and take-offs of business and private jets. Unfortunately, we don't have such a facility at any of our airport here. The terminal that we have proposed to set up at Delhi airport seeks to meet this demand," sources said.
According to sources, the state-of-the art facility would accommodate six code B (all large business jets fall in this category) aircraft besides providing parking space for 80 aircraft.
ExecuJet Aviation offers diverse range of services including aircraft management for private and commercial registered aircraft, aircraft charter and maintenance besides aircraft completions management and fixed base operations, among others.
"The private and business jets terminal will offer all facilities such as passenger and crew lounge, retail and food and beverages space, among others," they said.
