Deendayal Upadhyay gave a new dimension to the society by his works and thoughts and people should associate themselves with his thoughts and ideologies, Raje said at the foundation laying ceremony of Upadhyay's national memorial at Dhankya railway station near here.
"His thoughts and ideologies hold relevance even today," she added.
Raje said that the government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the construction of the memorial.
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh said that Upadhyay's thought was that benefits of government's policies and programmes should reach every person of the society.
Technical education minister Kalicharan Saraf, MP Ramcharan Bohra, Deputy Leader of state assembly Rao Rajendra Singh were among others present on the occasion, a release said.
