Delhi CM to flag off 100 new standard-floor buses on Friday

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will flag off 100 new standard-floor buses in Dwarka on Friday, the Delhi government said on Thursday.

According to an official, the "ultra-modern" buses are fitted with GPS trackers, CCTV, panic button, hydraulic lifts for the differently abled and other state-of-the-art features for safety and comfort of passengers.

The new buses will augment public transport in the national capital, the official said.

"The chief minister will flag off 100 new ultra-modern, CNG, standard-floor buses at the Dwarka bus depot on Friday," official said.

There are around 1,680 buses under the cluster scheme of Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System (DIMTS).

In August this year, Kejriwal had flagged off the first batch of 25 buses out of the 1,000 standard-floor ones to be procured in a phased manner. He had said that in next seven to eight months, 3,000 new buses, including 1,000 e-buses, would be rolled out in the city.
