"Increasing prices of edible commodities are hitting the public hard. The BJP government at the Centre which is about to complete one year and the AAP government in Delhi which is about to complete 100 days have done nothing to curtail the rise in prices," chief spokesperson of Delhi Congress Sharmistha Mukherjee said in a statement.
She said both the governments have not only failed to curtail the inflation, but actually there has been a steep increase in the prices, especially of food items like vegetables and pulses.
"It is really surprising that the government is going on increasing the prices despite there being a massive reduction in crude oil prices in the international market," she said.
"This increase is definitely going to further enhance the prices of everything including essential commodities and food items," she pointed out.
