The issue was recently at the centre of a tussle between the BJP and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), with both accusing each other of not doing anything to save traders from their properties being sealed on these roads.
According to the government, as soon as the file pertaining to the survey report about CLU of 351 roads was put up before Urban Development Minister Satyendar Jain, it was sent to the Lt Governor for his approval.
Following the development, the BJP said that under pressure from the opposition, the AAP government had to give its nod to the file to notify the 351 roads, paving the way for legalising commercial activities on these roads.
Once the L-G's nod is obtained, the survey report would be presented before the Supreme Court for its approval, an official said.
"Sending the file pertaining to 351 roads to Hon'ble LG today, as soon as we recd the proposal from MCDs. As soon as LG's approval is obtained, it will be presented before SC for its approval," Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
Last month, Kejriwal had said that on 351 roads, there was no sealing yet, but despite this, the BJP was raising this issue again and again.
He had accused the saffron party of "doing politics" over the ongoing sealing drive being carried out by the BJP-led MCDs.
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta alleged that the AAP should apologise to the people of Delhi for "doing politics" over this issue.
"People were suffering but AAP was doing politics. The Aam Aadmi Party should apologise to the Delhiites," Gupta tweeted in Hindi.
During the Winter Session of the Delhi Assembly last month, Gupta had alleged that he was marshalled out of the House to save the government from embarrassment over the sealing drive.
