Delhi Gymkhana Club founder Dilbagh Singh passes away

One of the well-known faces of Delhi club cricket and founder of famous Delhi Gymkhana Club Dilbagh Singh today passed away at the age of 81.
Singh, who had played Ranji Trophy for Jammu and Kashmir in the 1950's, was an active club cricketer, serving Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) in various capacities including being a selector.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. His younger son Bantu Singh, was a dependable midd-order batsman for Delhi during the mid 80's to ear;y 90's and has also captained the side.
DDCA president Sneh Bansal sent his condolences on Singh's demise.
"He was one of the pillars of Delhi's club cricket and a man of integrity. As a selector, he was above reproach. His passing away is a great loss for the state," Bansal said.
The cremation would take place on Tuesday at the Sat Nagar cremation ground, behind Pusa Road telephone exchange.
