Delhi scorches as mercury refuses to relent

Heat wave continued to sweep the national capital today as the minimum temperature climbed to 29.1 degree Celsius.
Though no respite is likely for the Delhiites from the heat spell, the weatherman said, there are chances of dust storms and thunderstorms tomorrow, which might pull the mercury down a bit.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 43.7 degrees Celsius yesterday, three notches above normal. The minimum temperature yesterday was 26.3 degree Celsius.
Temperature recored at the Safdarjung observatory was 44 degrees Celsius while Palam observatory recorded a high of 46 degrees Celsius, the highest this summer season.
No rainfall has been recorded in the last 24 hours and a 49 per cent humidity was registered at 8:30 AM, a MeT official said, adding the humidity oscillated between 22 per cent and 71 per cent.
Temperature forecast for tomorrow is 42 degrees Celsius maximum and 30 degrees Celsius minimum.
