Delhi University student raped in Ghaziabad; one arrested

A Delhi University student was allegedly raped by a friend of her car driver in Site 4 Industrial area of the district, police said today.
The driver was arrested for allegedly hatching a conspiracy, SP (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav said, adding that the main accused, Asif, is absconding.
The girl, who lived with her elder sister, had bought a car with the help of driver Yogesh recently, he said.
On Saturday night, he approached them at their house and asked the girl to come with him to collect the registration papers of the car.
Yogesh picked up his accomplice Asif, who works as a welder in Maharajpur, on the way and drove to an abandoned cycle factory in Site 4 Industrial area under Linkroad Police Station.

Asif allegedly raped the girl in the car in Yogesh's presence, the officer said.
Her brother-in-law lodged a complaint against the two with the police, he said, adding that a case has been registered and the girl sent for medical examination.
