Demonetised notes with face value RPT face value of Rs 50 lakh seized

Demonetised currency with a face value of Rs 50 lakh RPT with a face value of Rs 50 lakh has been seized from a car and three persons in the vehicle arrested at Puttur in the district, police said.
The seizure was effected during a vehicle check yesterday, they said, adding the three persons did not have any documents to explain the presence of the cash.
The trio claimed that the cash belonged to a businessman in Madikeri and was being transported to the town of Mani to be exchanged for new notes through a person there.
