Ashik has been admitted to isolation ward in the Government Hospital here.
Police said he had been suffering from fever for the last four days. His blood samples were sent to laboratories in Coimbatore and Chennai and the results tested positive for dengue, hospital sources said.
Following this, he was placed in an isolation ward, they said.
