Designer Kochhar recreates Rajasthan's glorious era at LFW

Designer Archana Kochhar today recreated the beauty of Rajasthan on the ramp with her 'Chokhi' collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.
The collection was reminiscent of the beautiful creations worn by women in their 'havelis' in Rajasthan.
Kochhar used an array of colours, earthy prints with images of forts, twirling moustaches and mirror embroidery to delve into the past with a contemporary look about it all.
The colour palette had a rich offering of kesari orange, haldi yellow and burnt maroon, reflecting the glory of the vibrant desert state.
The collection had shirt kurtas, tunics teamed with matching leggings or loose but fitted patiala pants, saris, shararas, lehengas lavishly embellished with acrylic mirror work, zardosi and metal studs.

Wool added to the rustic beauty of the ensemble. The shisha embroidery was lavishly used for shrugs and waistcoats.
Menswear followed the same inspiration and showcased an interesting blend of shirt kurtas and partially digital printed jackets worn with trousers, bundies, dhoti, silk waistcoats, jackets with mirror work and sherwani with Jodhpuri pants.
