Desiltation project in city sewerage system inaugurated

A desiltation project in the city's sewerage system with installation of new liners was inaugurated today by Mayor Sovan Chatterjee.
The liners were installed between the stretch of Ballygunge pumping station and Tolly's Nullah at a cost of Rs 550 crore under the JNNURM by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
Chatterjee expressed hope that the city's water logging problem will be eased after this.
Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee and Disaster Management Minister Javed Khan were present on the occasion.
