Desmond Yates sworn in as Anglo-Indian MLA in Maha Assembly

Desmond Norman Ross Yates today took oath as a nominated member of the Anglo-Indian community in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly with Speaker Haribhau Bagde administering the oath to him.

The seat was vacant since November, 2014 when the BJP government under Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in.

Yates was the nominated member from the community in the previous Assembly as well.

Ministers Chandrakant Patil, Girish Bapat among others were present when Yates was sworn in as an MLA.
